Obama Agenda: Repeal DOMA!
Less than 24 hours into the new administration, President Obama is sending America a radical new message about marriage.
Updated just minutes after the inauguration, the new Obama White House website declares "we need to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act," instantly jeopardizing the marriage laws of 45 states, including constitutional amendments in 30 states where voters have recently acted to give marriage the greatest protection possible at the state level. Instead of protecting the will of voters all across the country, President Obama's policy would allow a handful of judges in Massachusetts and Connecticut to force same-sex marriage on the entire nation.
It's time to send a message of our own. The National Organization for Marriage has launched domadefensefund.com to mobilize an army of activists to protect DOMA.
We must act now to tell President Obama and the new Congress that we won't stand for them repealing DOMA. The American people have spoken time and time again -- 30 times now -- that they don't want same-sex marriage, much less have it forced on them by four judges from Massachusetts. We need to make sure Washington gets the message. And we need to act NOW before it is too late.
We need you to do three things immediately:
1.) Log onto www.domadefensefund.com and send an email to President Obama, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Harry Reid, and your own representatives in Congress. With easy-to-use online tools, in five minutes or less you can make your voice heard in Washington.
2.) Second, share this message with at least five friends. The site has added functionality to make it easy for you to forward this message, post it on Facebook, mention it on Twitter, etc. It's critical that we get the word out quickly. We don't know how much time we have, and the only way to stop the repeal of DOMA is through a massive groundswell of grassroots involvement.
Together, we can protect marriage for our children and grandchildren!

That's about a 5 percent jump in support for protecting marriage compared to PPIC's last poll in October before the elections. Prop 8 last November. PPIC predicted just 44 percent of Californians would vote for Prop 8, while 52 percent actually did! and a new willingness to stand up for marriage. our side of the story of that harassment campaign is getting out. The Washington Times reports accurately that these ranged from hassles to death threats. I told the reporter, "Anybody who's in California knows that it's very widespread. Every donor has a story. Remember, the marriage battles in Vermont and New Hampshire are part of a larger national strategy--to give Pres.
